Children’s Ministry
Nursery
- Sundays 10:15-11:45 am
- Birth -4 years old
Our Nursery is a favorite place for our children. It is a safe, well equipped space intended for children birth to 4 years old. The bright space offers age appropriate toys and activities for our youngest children. As well as loving nursery workers with the training and certifications to best care for children. Children are welcome to start each Sunday in the nursery or begin in worship and ease their way to the nursery as needed.
Worship
- Sundays 10:30 – 11:30 am
- All Ages
Worship is a vital time for our whole community to come together. We welcome and encourage people of ALL ages and stages to join us for worship. We are more complete when we are all together. There are blue activity bags for children (or children at heart) to take at the entrance to the Sanctuary.
We are also continually looking for new ways to creatively engage and involve children and youth in worship. If you have any suggestions or ideas, please send Kate an email.
Children’s Time
- Sunday Mornings (except 1st Sunday of the month)
- PreK-5th Grade
We invite children to gather for a story and lesson on Sunday mornings with Mrs. Custer. Children go to worship with their family in the Sanctuary and will be excused for Children’s Time. We feel it is important for families to worship together, but understand the benefits of age specific learning. Children’s Time is a welcoming environment that uses a variety of learning styles to engage learners.
This year Children’s Time and Kidventure will focus on the beloved stories and scriptures of the Old Testament.
Kidventure
- Mondays 5:15-6:30 pm
- Pre-K-5th grade
- Register Here
Kidventure is the place to be! Join us EVERY MONDAY for an evening catered to kids. Each Kidventure will begin with dinner where we will share about our day and allow families to arrive as they are able. Following dinner we will play games, sing and dance with Mr. Bob, engage in our Bible story, and then creatively reinforce the story. This year we are teaming up with First Baptist Church to welcome even more students into the Kidventure experience. Our focus for Children’s Time and Kidventure this year will be on the beloved stories and scriptures of the Old Testament. We welcome children from the whole community, everyone is invited.

Families
Children’s Library
Tucked away under the glow of beautiful stained glass windows is our children’s library. Follow the ramp up behind the Sanctuary and cuddle up and read in the big white chair. Children will find beloved books that share Biblical stories, address life experiences, and involve whimsical characters. The library is a great place to explore and still hear worship if sitting becomes a bit too difficult on Sunday mornings. Parents will also find great resources to explore.
Our children’s library is a new addition to the First Presbyterian Church library. Children in our church (many generations of children) have beloved memories of receiving books from Rosemary Ramsey. Rosemary was a member of FPC who would send children a book on their birthday each year. Rosemary’s love for books and the children of our congregation lives on through a memorial fund that was set up in her honor. Our children’s library is constantly growing thanks to the memorial funds that allow us to purchase new books.
Family Events
- Times and Location Vary
New this year are family events! We are excited to be partnering up with First Baptist Church for events throughout the year to build community and friendships amongst families in our congregations. Some events we are planning are parent’s night out, picnics, trivia, and more.
