The purpose of a Deacon as set forth in the Presbyterian Church constitution is … “first of all to minister to those in need, to the sick, the friendless and to any who may be in distress.” The Deacons are the structured expression of what all Christians are asked to do – to serve in the name of Jesus Christ. The Deacons help lead the congregation in its care and concern for the church family and its friends.
