General Information and Submission Guidelines
Mission: Our mission is to recognize, celebrate, and cultivate God’s creative Spirit in each of us by promoting appreciation and participation in the Arts.
Goal: Our goal is to offer a quality gallery space for the support of recognized artists as well as emerging or under-represented artists.
Style and Genre: We seek fine art in a variety of styles, media and genres. Our shows are family-friendly so subject matter must be appropriate for all viewers.
Origin: All art submitted must be the original art of the artist both in concept, content and execution.
Requirements: All two-dimensional work must be ready for hanging. Pieces must be matted, framed and protected with glass if appropriate. Paintings on stretched canvases should be framed or have painted edges for a finished appearance. Hanging wires must be attached to the back. Three dimensional pieces will be displayed on pedestals unless they are intended to sit on the floor.
Gallery Space: The Narthex is a unique and beautiful gallery space. The size of the display area is flexible with the opportunity to use adjacent rooms. You are encouraged to view the space before submitting your work for consideration.
Submissions for Consideration: If you are interested in displaying your art in the Narthex Gallery please contact the church office at 503-472-6256 to be directed to one of the gallery coordinators. We will consider work presented via portfolio presentation, digitally, or by directing us to your website. You are also encouraged to read through the Artist’s Packet.
Disclaimer: We reserve the right to refuse displaying any piece of art which does not meet our expected level of quality or which we deem inappropriate for our viewing audience.
